Roy, Lorraine L. (Genereux), 63 of Blackstone, MA died Friday at home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Gerard R. Roy Sr. who died in 1985. Lorraine was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Theresa Genereux, and the oldest of ten children.
Adored and loved by her children Lisa A. Dean of Douglas; Sharon R. Menard of Burrillville; Gerard R. Roy Jr. of Douglas; Michelle L. Roy of Blackstone; Wayne S. Roy of Uxbridge; Bruce E. Roy of Millville; and Nicole P. Roy of Blackstone. She leaves three grandchildren, Cash and Bruce, Jr. Roy of Millville; and Matthew J. Dean of Douglas. She was the sister of Maurice Genereux of Blackstone; Louise Genereux of BelAir, MD; Rose Genereux of Chepachet; Denise Genereux of New Port Richie, FL; Harold Genereux of FL; and Sandra Genereux of Boston. She was also the sister of the late Paul, David, and Brian Genereux.
Her children are very grateful to the many family members and friends that helped them care for their mother throughout her illness. She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30 am. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. in St. Paul’s Church, St. Paul’s St. Blackstone. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday 6-9 pm.
