Obituary

Eleanor E. (Garner) Godfrey, beloved wife of the late Robert A. Godfrey, Sr. died at her residence in West Medford on March 6th, 2003, after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving children. She was 86 years old.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 11, 1917, she was the beloved daughter of the late James A. and Rosetta E. (Lucas) Garner.

Mrs. Godfrey was a long time communicant of the Grace Episcopal Church in Medford, Massachusetts. She was a member of the West Medford Women’s Club and also was a St. Anne’s Guild member. Her past times were cooking and a sincere love of helping people in any way that she could.

Mrs. Godfrey had been a Medford resident for more than 60 years.

She was the loving mother of Ruth J. Youngblood of Medford, Robert A. Godfrey, Jr., of Medford, Lynne M. Godfrey of Medford and Christopher J. Godfrey of Haverhill. She also is survived by many grandchildren, one grandchild and a host of relatives and friends, all of whom will sorely miss her.

Her funeral service was held in the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High Street, Medford, Massachusetts 02155, on Monday, March 10, 2003 at 10 AM.

At the request of her family, donations in her name may be made to UNICEF, 1330 Beacon Street, Brookline, Massachusetts, 02446. Arrangements were by the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, Medford, MA
