Mertie R. (Foster) Dalton, of Summer Field Florida, formerly of Reading, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 64 years of age.
Born in Brattleboro Vermont, Mertie was the loving daughter of Arthur H. Foster and Myrtie (Ward) Foster. Mertie was a Certified Nursing Aid for many years. She also worked for the Shoebox in Florida making hats for the Soldiers in Iraq. She also loved to crochet. She often made quilts for patients who suffered from dialysis.
Mertie was the beloved wife of Robert Dalton. She was the dedicated mother of Michael Dalton, Kimberly Dalton and Karri Dalton. Mertie was the cherished grandmother of 6. Dear sister of Nancy Cunningham, Richard Foster, Robert Foster, and Matthew Foster. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and in laws.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Wednesday 4-8pm. Parking attendants will be available. A Service Celebrating Mertie’s Life will be held in the funeral home at 7:30pm.
