Methuen, Ma. – Mary (Mariano) (Sicurella) Poulin, 96, died Thursday, June 19 ,2008 at Lawrence General hospital.
Mary was born in Lawrence, daughter of Frank and Filomena (DiVenzo) Mariano. A longtime resident of Methuen and widow of the late Albert Poulin.
As a young woman, Mary worked as a mender in the Arlington Mill’s. She was also an entrepreneur and started her own drapery business, where she worked until the age of 94. Mary was renowned for her expertise in early American decoration and design. Many people sought out her advice and gained a friendship.
She had been a very active member of The First Calvary Baptist Church, then of Lawrence and now of North Andover. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by countless family and friends.
Mary is survived by her nephews, Ronald and Nelson Mariano, and numerous nieces and nephews on the Poulin Side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Al Poulin, and cherished son Anthony Sicurella (J). She will always be remembered as an amazing person to all of her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday morning, June 24, 2008 at 11 am from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral home 233 Lawrence St. in Methuen. With internment to follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. Friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday morning at the funeral home, from 9:30 to 10:45.
