Ruth A. (Darby) Marchand age 86 of Salem, NH, died Thursday at her home.
She was born in Springfield, MA, grew up and was educated in Somerville, MA. She later graduated from Mt. Auburn, Cambridge Hospital, School of Nursing in 1946, after taking care of her sick parents, while her brothers were fighting in World War II. She was a resident of Salem for the past 59 years, formerly of Cambridge, MA.
Mrs. Marchand was a retired Registered Nurse for Broadway Nursing Home in Methuen, MA. She was a member of the Salem Women’s Club, Salem Senior Center, and the Widow & Widowers Club of Salem. She enjoyed spending time with and joking with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband Ephraim B. Marchand.
She is survived by 2 Daughters:
Cheryl & her Husband Paul Leone of Merrimacport, MA
Rosemary & her Husband Michael Daigle of Salem, NH
1 Son: Dennis & his Wife Kristin Marchand of Raymond, NH
6 Grandchildren: Faye Leone & her Fiancé Eric Saiet, Gabrielle Leone, Jenny Marchand & her Fiancé Rick Owens, Michael & Alex Daigle, & Cassie Toole

Calling hours will be held Monday, June 23 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 24 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
