BEVERLY: Elizabeth J. “Betty” (Archung) McPartland, 61, died Tuesday evening, June 17, 2008 in the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Lynn on August 17, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Philip J. and Gladys A. (Lyon) Archung. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School and has resided in Beverly for the past thirty-five years.
Betty was employed as a payroll specialist for the City of Beverly for several years. She had also once worked for the Northeast Family Institute in Danvers for many years. She was a loving mother with a great sense of humor. She also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, travel, dancing, cooking and especially spending time with her many friends.
She is survived by three sons, David A. and John L. McPartland both of Peabody and Michael J. McPartland of Beverly, a brother, Philip J. Archung, Jr. of Peabody, a sister-in-law, Marie Archung of Danvers and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a brother, Richard Archung and a sister-in-law, Jean Archung.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday in St. John the Evangelist Church, New Balch St., Beverly at 9 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Friday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice. Interment will be held in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
