WORCESTER - Billy C. Saffron, 55, of 16 Arden Road died Saturday, March 8 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus after a courageous battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife Cynthia (James) Saffron; a son Michael J. Saffron of Worcester; a daughter Anne M. Saffron of Worcester; a brother John Saffron of Worcester and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Long Beach, California son of John and Angelina (Litsas) Saffron and lived in Worcester most of his life.
Mr. Saffron was a professional bus driver for the Worcester Regional Transit Authority and previously for Peter Pan Bus Lines. He was a member of the teamsters local union 170. He was a sound technician for several popular local bands in the 60's and 70's and also worked nationally with the Joe Cocker Band. He enjoyed song writing, guitar playing and fishing.
The funeral service and burial will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 11 AM in All Faith's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 10 from 5 to 8 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street.
