William A. Sullivan, 69, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading on June 17th, 2008. He was born in Malden on August 8th, 1938 to his parents William P. and Agatha M. (Watson) Sullivan. William has been a life long resident of Malden. He is a graduate of Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1957. William served as a Firefighter for the City of Malden Fire Department for 32 years. He is a member of the Malden Catholic Hall of Fame, most notably for being part of the 1956 Championship Hockey Team. He was also a past member of the Irish American Association in Malden. He is survived by his children, William P. Sullivan ., Deputy Chief of the Malden Fire Department and his wife Roberta of Malden and Laurie A. Fitzgerald and her husband James of Malden; and by his grandchildren Brendan, Christopher James, Caroline Mary, Alicia and Daria. Along with his parents, William was predeceased by his wife Mary Louise (Sheehan) Sullivan and by his sister Virginia Laux. Relatives & friends are invited to attend services from the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Friday June 20th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
