Kenneth L. "Kenn" Caci, a 20 year resident Saugus and former 20 year resident of Melrose, died unexpectedly on Sunday, "Fathers Day", June 15, 2008 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. He was 62 years old.
Kenn was born in Methuen on December 1, 1945. He grew up in Fitchburg where he attended Fitchburg Public Schools and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1963. Kenn enlisted into the United States Navy on September 3, 1963 and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was discharged on November 30, 1966 with the rank of Electrician's Mate Third Class. Following his discharge, Kenn worked as a salesman for several electronics companies and also became a licensed electrician. In 1984 along with his brother, Kenn established Future Bearings Incorporated of Bellingham, a transmission distributor. He retired in 2007 so that he could enjoy his golfing and skiing in North Conway, New Hampshire, and had recently joined the North Conway Golfing Club. He enjoyed playing basketball, river rafting and most of all his grandchildren and other children during the holidays, Holloween and any other activity the included children.
Kenn is the beloved husband of 20 years to Rosalie J. (Russo) Caci. He is the devoted father of Kimberly Thurston and her husband Steven of Plymouth, Kristen Duggan and her husband Vincent of Melrose and step-father of Fred Long, Jr., and his companion Marie Stewart of Amesbury, Robert Long and his wife Pamela of Rowley and Diane Long of Saugus. He is the loving Papa to Tania, George, Zachary, Sara, Kenny, Casey and Stevie Jr. He is the brother of Paul Caci, Jan Bailey, Sandi Maxim, Gerald Caci and Carol Kennedy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Kenn's Funeral will be held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose, followed by his Funeral Mass in The Church of The Incarnation, 425 Upham Street, Melrose, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Kenn are on Thursday, June 19, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
