Jeannette M. (Surprenant) Lamontagne, age 92, died Thursday, June 12, at a local healthcare facility in Lowell following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond A. Lamontagne.
She was born in Lowell on June 1, 1916, the daughter of the late Joseph and Delia (Roy) Surprenant. Jeannette was a lifelong resident of Lowell and was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She was employed with Lowell Shoe for 11 years and also Paris Shoe until her retirement. Jeannette was also a Nurses' Aide with Lowell Elderly Health Care.
She is survived by two step-sons, Raymond Lamontagne of Dracut and Robert Lamontagne of Lowell; her nephew and godson, Raoul "Ralph" Surprenant of Merrimack, NH; also several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by many brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Wednesday morning, June 18 from 9 to 11am. A prayer service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11am followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
