Woonsocket
Irene T. Carpentier 78, of 1 Main St. died Thursday at home. She was born in Uxbridge, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Celia (Benoit) Boisvert.
Mrs. Carpentier was a presser for the former Finklestein’s Company in Woonsocket for twenty five years and also worked for the Narragansett Knitting Mills , and retired after the closing of the mill in 1995. She was an avid knitter and also enjoyed crocheting.
Mrs. Carpentier was the wife of the late Albert Carpentier, Joseph Zygmunt, and Andrew Leclaire.
She is survived by a son Francis Zygmunt of North Smithfield, a daughter Linda McKenna of Clovis New Mexico, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
