Obituary

Russell C. Sandblom, 74, of Derry, NH, died Friday, June 13, 2008 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Mr. Sandblom was born in Norwood, MA on June 9, 1934, a son of the late Victor and Grace (Merrill) Sandblom. He was a retired Psychologist from the State of New Hampshire and was a very active member of the Londonderry Presbyterian Church, PC (U.S.A.) where he sang in the church choir. Mr. Sandblom proudly served for 20 years in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He loved to play golf and was an avid baseball fan. He will be remembered as a gentle, mild mannered man, who loved his family and his church family.

He is survived by one daughter, Pamela Griffin and her husband Daniel of Londonderry, NH, one son, Steven Sandblom and his wife Terri of Pawtucket, RI, two grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley, one sister, Pearl Sandblom of Arlington, MA, one brother, Donald Sandblom of Ormond Beach, FL, and his former wife Suzanne Sandblom of Manchester, NH.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 5-8 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will follow at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Stroke Association, 9707 E. Easter Lane, Centennial, CO. 80012.
