C. Gladys Doten, 93, of Derry Way, Derry, NH died Saturday March 8, 2003 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born in England on August 18, 1909, a daughter of the late William and Clara (Webber) Caffelle. Mrs. Doten was a resident of Derry for 25 years, formerly living in Brockton, MA. She was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration, Derry. She was predeceased by her husband Albert E. Doten in 1987.
She is survived by two daughters, Ann Doten, Derry, Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Gilkinson, Londonderry, NH, one grandson, Michael Gilkinson, Newburyport, MA, one granddaughter, Lori Cassidy, Merrimack, NH, one great-grandson, Zachary Cassidy, Merrimack, NH, one brother, Richard Caffelle, Brockton, MA, two sisters, Edith Johnson, Holbrook, MA, Winnifred Pratt, New Hartford, CT, several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Following cremation a memorial service will be held Sunday March 23rd at 2:00pm at the Church of the Transfiguration, 1 Hood Road, Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Derry/Salem Home Health and Hospice, 15 East Broadway, Derry, NH 03038. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is handling the arrangements.
