Obituary

WORCESTER-Francis J. St. Germain, 86, of Worcester, died Thursday, June 12th in his home. He leaves his wife, Helen B. (Katinas) St. Germain, his son, Edward F., and his wife, Kathleen M. St. Germain of Springfield, VA; two daughters, Barbara M. Holbrook of Ware and Denise A. St. Germain and Tammy Marengo of Worcester; a sister, Ernestine St. Germain of Worcester; five grandchildren, Courtney Holbrook, Danyelle, Martine, Geoffrey and Christopher St. Germain; two great grand-daughters Madyson and Kelsey May and several nephews and nieces. His brother, Ernest St. Germain and sister, Irene Crevier predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Edward and Maria (Plante) St. Germain, and attended Worcester Boys Trade. After his father died, Francis at the age of five began his role as man of the house, taking care of his mother and siblings. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II with the Seabees in the Philippines. During his service he was invited to the Presidential Mansion in Manila, and had cherished this honor. Mr. St. Germain was a member of Christ the King Parish, and was active with Seabee Alumni Groups. He enjoyed time spent with his family and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

The funeral is Monday, June 16th with a Mass at 9:30 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
