Obituary

SHREWSBURY-Louise May (Rollins) Berg, 77, of Shrewsbury died Tuesday, June 10th in her home. She leaves her husband of 56 years, Donald H. Berg; her daughter, Jennie Lucretia and her husband John J. Pagano; a granddaughter, Nina Lucretia Pagano; a grandson, Michael Angelo Pagano all of Paxton; and many nephews and nieces. Her daughter Nancy Ann Berg died in 1969, and Louise's sister, Phyllis and her husband James Karaku predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Irving E. and Marian E. (Fogg) Rollins. Mrs. Berg was a graduate of South High School when it was located on Freeland Street and the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by Hahnemann Hospital as a registered nurse for 17 years, and for several years as a private duty nurse for local hospitals and trained home health aides through the Massachusetts Paramedical Association before retiring. Mrs. Berg was an active member of Salem Covenant Church, sang in its choir, was a member of its Women’s Club and taught at its Sunday school. She was a volunteer at UMass Medical Center and Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital for several years. Mrs. Berg was very active in the schools her children attended.

The funeral is Saturday, June 14th with a service at 11:00 AM in Salem Covenant Church, 215 East Mountain Street. Immediately following the benediction, all are invited into the Fellowship Hall for refreshments and time with the friends and family of Louise. Commital will be Saturday, June 14th at 9:30 AM in All Faiths Cemetery (New Swedish Cemetery), 7 Island Road. Calling hours are Friday, June 13th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Charlton, c/o Salem Covenant Church, 215 East Mountain Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
