Obituary

Edward F. Reilly, 81, died at home with his children by his side on Tuesday, June 10 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Theresa H. (Lydon) Reilly. Born and educated in Boston, he was a resident of Stoughton for the past 50 years. Mr. Reilly was a member of the Merchant Marines during World War II and was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was a Corrections Officer with the Massachusetts Dept. of Corrections, working at various locations for 35 years before retiring as a Lieutenant at age 65. He was a member of the Stoughton Irish American Society, as well as many Irish social clubs. An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, he enjoyed Irish music, dance and loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Reilly is survived by his children, Theresa M. Hrenko and her husband John of Stoughton, Edward P. Reilly of Naples, FL and Mark W. Reilly and his wife Taryn of Raynham, as well as his grandchildren, John, Matthew, Christine and Lucas Hrenko and Shane and Julianne Reilly. He was the brother of John T. Reilly of Springfield, Gerald T. Reilly of Westwood, Donald J. Reilly of Dover, NH and the late Mary O’Connell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, June 13 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Michael Church, Avon at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Eddo’s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
