In Taunton, June 9, 2008 James J. husband of Anglina (Correia) Larner died at Morton Hospital in Taunton at the age of 98. Born and educated in New Bedford and NY York Trade School, James was the son of the late James J. Jeannette (Partington) Larner. James was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII receiving the Good Conduct and Victory Medal, European, African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. A resident of Raynham for over 62 years on Raymond Street with hes wife. James was a retired Steamfitter for local union 51 and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 611 in Taunton. He was the father of Carol Powlowski Costa of Raynham and her long time friend Richard Neville of Taunton, Joan Batchelder of Wyoming, Minnesota and John W. Bird and his wife Paulette of Taunton. Grandfather of Candice Desmarais of Bridgewater, Brian Batchelder of Virginia, Steven Batchelder and his wife Heather of Minnesota, Tammy and her husband Kenneth Reichert of Taunton and Michael J. Bird and his wife Danielle of East Bridgewater. Great Grandfather of Ashlee, Brett, Nicholas, Austin, Micheala, Brenna, Kenneth, Braeden and Ryleigh. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Friday June 13th from 9:30 am to 11 am. A service will be held at 11 am Friday morning at the Funeral Home. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
