WEBSTER - Donald F. Chase, 52, of 16 Whitcomb St., died Sunday, June 8, in University of Mass.Medical Center, Worcester, after being stricken ill at home.
He leaves his wife of 23 years, Suzanne E. (LaFountain) Chase; 4 children, Trisha L. Chase and her partner Michelle Martinez of Royce City, TX, Kristine L. Chase of Webster, Joseph M. Chase and his wife Allison of Millbury, and Jennifer Hermansdorfer and her fiancé Russell Stankiewicz of Webster; his mother-in-law, Leona D. (Jeffrey) LaFountain of Webster; 3 sisters, his twin Donna Grier and her husband Peter and Harriet Quesnel and her husband Roger, all of Fitzwilliam, NH, and Josephine Rumrill of Webster; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Lynne and Herbert Sward of North Grosvenordale, CT, Mark LaFountain of Southbridge, Luann LaFountain of Webster and Leonard LaFountain and his wife Karen of Aliso Viejo, CA; aunts and uncles, including Eliza Popple of Fitzwilliam, NH, nieces and nephews, many friends and his beloved animals.
He was born and raised in Fitzwilliam, NH, a son of John H. Chase, Jr. and Dorothy E. (Burns) Chase. He moved to Webster at the time of his marriage in 1985. He attended Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey Center, NH.
Mr. Chase was a furnace operator at Fiba Technology in Millbury. He was the dog officer in Webster, Dudley and Charlton over the years. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus in Charlton every year during the Christmas season.
He loved being outdoors, growing an annual garden, both deep sea and fresh water fishing and camping. He also liked his casino visits and all kinds of food, especially barbecue fare. Above all, he was devoted to his wife and children.
The funeral will be held at 8:00 PM Friday, June 13, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 9:00 PM June 13 in the funeral home.
Instead of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the Webster Animal Shelter (for a new pound), c/o the Board of Health, 350 Main St. Webster, MA 01570.
