Connal, of Plymouth formerly of Concord, June 9th, James D. 86. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Buote) Connal. Father of Daniel Connal and his wife Jean of Londonderry, NH, Brian Connal of Raymond, NH, Kevin Connal of Brooklyn, NY and the late Linda Connal. He was the brother of the late Anne Shirley Craddock, the late Robert Connal and the late Norma Robinson. He also leaves 4 grandchildren, Melissa, Christopher and Mark Connal and Carla Connal.
Born in Lawrence, James was the son of the late James and Mary (Mitchell) Connal. He graduated from Lawrence High School and attended night classes at Harvard. He worked for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections for 45 years which included serving on the Parole Board. He also drove a school bus in Concord, MA for 15 years. He enjoyed sports, music, and fishing. He was a little league coach for several years and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Concord. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 13th at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 11 o’clock. Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date. Visiting hours will be prior to the mass on Friday morning from 9–10:30 AM at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Route 3A, Plymouth (Manomet). In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472
