Charles Sharigian, Sr., 86, died Friday, June 6, 2008, in the St. Francis Home. His wife of 51 years, Ann (Samuelian) Sharigian, died in 1999. He leaves a son, Charles Sharigian, Jr., and his wife Gayle of West Boylston; a daughter, Susanne Magarian and her husband Robert of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Helen Nahabedian of Marco Island, FL; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased a brother, Simon and 2 sisters, Rose Khederian and Mary Najarian. Charles was born in Sutton, son of Haropsimi (Balomian) and Sahag Sharigian. He was a graduate of Commerce High School and was a Navy veteran of WWII. He worked for U.S. Steel for 32 years. Charles was an active and dedicated member of The Armenian Church of Our Saviour, its Parish Council, Men's Club and the AVAKS. He was the church custodian for many years and was a member of Quinsigamond Lodge AF&AM and a member of the Armenian American Veterans. Charles was a true people person.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 11:00 in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, Worcester Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 10 from 5-8 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A Dahngark Service will be held during the Calling Hours.
