NEW BEDFORD — David L. Lopes, age 67 years, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly on June 3rd, 2008 at home.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Antone and Mary (Gonsalves) Lopes and lived in San Francisco for thirty years and returned to this city several years ago.
While living in California he was a newspaper vendor on well known Market Street in San Francisco. He loved movies and talking with people. He attended Our Lady of Assumption Church.
He is survived by sisters- Gladys Lopes and Elaine Lopes of New Bedford and Barbara Ramos of California, brothers-Gene Lopes and Anthony Lopes of California and was brother of the late Ivan Lopes, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation at the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, from 6-8 P.M. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at a time to be announced in Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial is private.
