T.E. “Uncle T” Baker, Sr., 66, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Tuesday, June 10 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Baker was born February 29, 1942 in Berrien County to the late Charlie and Doris Bedard Baker. He was a logger with the former Iron Man Trucking Company and sold produce at the flea market in Albany. He had lived in the community for the past five years coming from Worth County. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Baker is survived by his son: Chris Baker of Fitzgerald; daughter and son-in-law: Darlene & Brandon Newton of Norman Park; two grandchildren: Bryce & Bradley Newton; two brothers: Jake Baker of Florida and Bill Baker of Hahira; one sister: Jerrie Baker of Alapaha; as well as several nieces and nephews including: Tina & Roy Futch, with whom he lived, Rodney Griner, Marvene Sherrod, and Debbie Steverson, all of Fitzgerald. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: T.E. Baker, Jr. as well as brothers and sisters
