Maria Anjos (Silva) Sousa, age 71, of Somerset for 42 years, passed away June 8, 2008 in Fall River. Beloved wife of Alvaro Sousa. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, daughter of the late Francisco Viriato Silva & the late Maria Anjos (Reis) Silva. Prior to retiring, she worked as a Sewing Machine Operator at Shelbourne Shirt Co. for 35 years. Mrs. Sousa was a parishioner of St. John of God Church, a member of the Holy Rosary Society & the Women’s Guild.
Besides her husband of Somerset, she is survived by 3 children: Jean S. DeSouto of Swansea, Alvaro S. Sousa of Rehoboth, & Theresa S. Neves of Somerset. 1 brother: Manuel Silva of Somerset. 4 Grandchildren & several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Armindo & Viriato Silva.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. Followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 A.M. in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave. Somerset. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 P.M.
