TAUNTON, MA … Claire A. (Gauthier) Michaud, 80, of Taunton and Naples FL, died unexpectedly Tuesday June 3, 2008.
She was the wife of Albert Michaud.
She died at Morton Hospital in Taunton.
She was born in Worcester, MA a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Alice (Dumont) Gauthier and had lived most of her life in Somerset, MA before moving to Taunton in 1994. She was a winter resident of Naples since 1990.
She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton.
She was Principal Clerk in the Treasurers Office for the City of Fall River, MA for ten years and then worked part time for the Assessors Office for the town of Freetown, MA for six years.
Mrs. Michaud enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, cooking, and sailing with her family. She was a Paul Harris Fellow through the Fall River Rotary Club. She was a high honors graduate of St. Anne’s School and the former Dominican Academy.
Survivors include her husband, of almost 60 years, 2 sons: Stefan Michaud of Lakeville, MA and Chris Michaud of Brooklyn, NY, a daughter Denise Haskins of Lakeville, 2 brothers: Joseph Gauthier and his wife Patricia of Marlton, NJ, and Paul Gauthier of Fall River, a sister Gertrude Goslin and her husband James of Warwick, RI, 3 grandchildren: Veronica Haskins Correia of Fall River, Monique Michaud and Ross Michaud both of Lakeville, several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held June 21, 2008 at 11AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Taunton. Private inurnment at a later date. She was cremated and as per her wish Mrs. Michaud was an organ donor and her spirit will live on in the people she helps.
