Rita R. Martin, 81, passed away at home in Medford on June 5th, 2008. She was born in Lewiston, Maine to her parents Elisee and Zelia (Chabot) Jean. Rita has been a resident of Medford for most of her life. She is a graduate of St. James Parish Parochial School and Medford High School. For several years, Rita worked as a waitress at the Chateau DeVille in Saugus. She also worked at Bradlees in Medford, Joseph Carr Photography and at the former Knickerbocker Brewery. She is survived by her husband, Leo R. Martin; her children, Sandra M. Sullivan and her husband Mark of Merrimac, Jeanne M. Martin of Medford, and Steven L. Martin and his wife Debra of Chelmsford; her granddaughter Sara Conti; and by her siblings, Roger Jean of Medford, Lucille Haddock of Melrose, Albert Jean of Reading, Leo Jean of Medford and Florence Bouthiller of Medford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Rita was predeceased by her siblings Robert Jean, Ernest Jean, Alice Bowen, Norman Jean and Alison Jean. Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Monday June 9th from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be held during the visitation beginning at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
