Carmella (Petrasso) Carvalho, 89, of Westport passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was widow of Joseph J. Carvalho.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (Botelho) Petrasso, she had lived in Westport for the past 36 years. Prior to retirement, she was a sewing machine operator for Bedford Manufacturing Company in Fall River. Mrs. Carvalho enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, music and ballroom dancing.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Pauline Reitano of Westport and Carmella Clemente of Warren, RI; 2 brothers: Angelo Petrasso of Fall River and Alphonso Petrasso of Westport; 4 sisters: Irene Petrasso of Fall River, Adeline Tafuri of N. Providence, RI, Caroline Santos of Fall River and Frances Manville of Fall River; 5 grandchildren: Gina, Lisa, Liza, Chris and George; 1 great granddaughter: Melena; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Alfred Petrasso and Dominic Petrasso.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday 6 - 8 P.M.
Funeral services will be private.
