TEWKSBURY - John Graeme Walsh, 56, a former member of the dietary staff at a Lowellhospital, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday evening, March 4th. He was the husband ofNancy S. (Sherman) Walsh.
He was born in Montreal, P.Q., Canada, Oct. 29, 1946, a son of Veronica C. (Walsh) Walsh ofTewksbury and the late Hugh Walsh. He emigrated to the U.S. at an early age, and with hisfamily, settled in Tewksbury. He graduated from T.M.H.S. with the class of 1965. He washonored with the T.M.H.S. award, the Industrial Arts Medal, in 1965.
He entered into the Army during the Vietnam War, and served in the Signal Corps in Vietnam for3 years.
Upon return from the war, he became a cook and worked at Saints Memorial Medical Center formore than 23 years.
He continued his education while raising his family, and earned a degree in Culinary Arts fromNorthern Essex Community College in 1977
He was a lifelong communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Joel Graeme Walsh and Steven JohnWalsh, a daughter, Lincy A. Walsh all of Lowell; four brothers and their spouses, Hugh J. Walshof Tewksbury, Brian M. and his wife Carol (Feudo) Walsh of Haverhill, Gerald J. and his wifeJacqueline (Acquino) Walsh of Nashua, Kevin P. Walsh and his wife Linda Parks of NY; foursisters and their spouses, Joan M. and her husband Heikki Vuorenmaa, Jane M. and her husbandNeil Hazel, Barbara A. Walsh, Susan C. Hines all of NY; and many loving nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Mar. 8, in St. William’s Church. Interment with Army Honors was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, No.Tewksbury.
