Salem: Christine E. (Samolchuck) Caron, age 80, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the NSMC / Union Hospital in Lynn following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Caron.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Bik) Samolchuck. Christine first worked as a waitress for the former Moustakis Ice Cream Parlor on Essex St. in Salem. She later worked as a secretary for the former Parker Brothers Game Co. until her retirement.
Always impeccably groomed and ever the lady, Christine was devoted to her family and grandsons and especially her great-granddaughter Reagan.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine C. ‘Cathy’ Dionne of Salem, 2 grandsons: Robert A. Dionne and his wife Gretchen H. of Salem, Marc E. Dionne also of Salem, her great-granddaughter Reagan, 3 sisters-in-law: Carolyn Samolchuck of Marblehead, Rita Samolchuck of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Samolchuck of Manchester by the Sea, a godson, Joseph Spatafore of Peabody. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Robert R. Dionne and 3 brothers: Michael, Walter and Harry Samolchuck.
Relatives and friends are invited meet with the family on Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 2 to 5 pm at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by her memorial service in the funeral home at 5 pm. Burial will be private.
