Boylston—Margaret L. (Ekman) Hager, 95, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in the Jewish Healthcare Center. She was the widow of Ralph W. Hager, who died in February. She leaves 3 children, Marilyn E. Mildish of Worcester, Beverly J. Greenough of Auburn, and Dr. Jon R. Hager of Adams, NY. She also had 10 grandchildren, 1 deceased, 10 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. One sister, Ethel C. Peterson predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Nils J. and Ida M. (Pettersson) Ekman. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Boylston where she was a former deacon, past president of the Ladies Aid Society of the Inner Circle Group, the Women’s Fellowship, and she served as a Sunday school teacher for the Morningdale Chapel. She was a Building Committee Member of the Boylston Elementary School and was a lifetime member of the Worcester Women’s Club. She was a Civil Defense Red Cross medic for the Town of Boylston. She loved to paint, travel, and visit the casinos.
Funeral services will be held at the First Congregational Church, Saturday, June 7, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, Ten Church Street, Boylston, MA 01505. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester is directing arrangements.
