Lillian N. Meserve, 89, of Hooksett, NH, died Monday, June 2, 2008 in her home. Mrs. Meserve was born in Peabody, MA on April 14, 1919, a daughter of the late David and Gertrude (Walsh) Dowdell. She was a resident of Hooksett for the past several years, formerly living in Londonderry, NH and Peabody, MA. Mrs. Meserve sang with the Bob Gleason Band during the late 1930's. She had been employed for Jordan Marsh in Peabody, MA and Bedford, NH as a training director and an employment manager. She later worked as an assistant treasurer for the Londonderry Bank and Trust in Londonderry. Mrs. Meserve enjoyed watching her 2:00pm soap opera daily, and was an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her son, Richard Meserve of Deerfield, NH; her daughter, Judith Meserve of Peabody, MA; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard W. Meserve in 2007 and her daughter Jeanne Hernandez.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, there was a private graveside service in the Glenwood Cemetery in Londonderry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
