Josephine Giacalone, age 87 of Medford died Tuesday in the Courtyard Nursing Care Center Medford. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Giacalone.
Born in Boston, daughter of the late Salvatore and Josepina (Taratino) Firicano, she was raised in Boston’s North end where she attended local schools.
Mrs. Giacalone enjoyed dancing, cooking and was well known for her cutting edge taste in fashion and stylish dress. A very family mind person, she will be sadly missed by her immediate family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves 2 daughters, Pasqua Marie Firicano of Boston, Josephine Hilaire of Lynn and a son Marco Giacalone of Medford. Dear sister of Fannie Scaporotti of Boston, Nancy Manganaro of East Boston, Anthony Firicano of Woburn, Richard Firicano of Boston and the late Provie Noyes. Loving grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 8 am. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
