George A. Scholz of Northbridge, formerly of 3 Farm St. Dover died on Saturday, May 31st at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was 77 years old. Born in Needham, he was the son of the late George A. and Marion I. (McAllister) Scholz. George was a resident of Dover for 75 years, having moved to Northbridge 2 years ago. He was the Supervisor of Highland Cemetery in Dover for 21 years, retiring in 1996. George summered in Northport Maine for many years. Husband of Betty (Judkins) Scholz of Northbridge. Father of Karen E. Leibfred of Northbridge and Mary I. Pierce of Brockton. Brother of Nancy Beckwith of Dover. Grandfather of Kaitlyn and Cassidy. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday June 6 from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A gathering to celebrate and honor George’s life will be held at the Dover American Legion, George B. Preston Post # 209 32 Dedham St. in Dover Center on Sunday, June 8th at 4:00 PM.
