Obituary

Brian A. Macdonald of Hyde Park, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away suddenly, June 1, 2008. He was 51. He was the beloved husband of Rita M. (Griffiths) Macdonald.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Wilfred D. and Irene L. (Driscoll) Macdonald. Mr. Macdonald grew up in West Roxbury and graduated from Catholic Memorial High School, Class of 1975. He worked in Construction as a Laborer and was a member of the Laborer’s Union, Local 223 in Dorchester. He has lived in Hyde Park for the last 27 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Katie M. & Daniel F. Macdonald both of Hyde Park and his siblings, Stephen W. Macdonald (BFD) and his wife Barbara of West Roxbury, Susan Kilduff and her husband Jerry of Walpole, Karen Macdonald and her husband Richard Fidler of Plymouth, Kevin Macdonald and his wife Francesca of Brookline and Sheila Macdonald of East Hampton, NY. He was also the brother-in-law of Frank & Mary Griffiths of Hanover, James & Valerie Griffiths of Marshfield and Richard & Linda Griffiths of CA. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Thursday, June 5th, at 9 AM with a funeral mass in St. John Chrysostom Church, West Roxbury at 10 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 3-8 PM. Interment will follow in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
