Obituary

James Vernon Huskey (aka."Ralph", "Jack", "Jim"), 85 of 402 Indigo St., loving husband, father and grandfather went to eternal rest on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Pendleton in Mystic.

"Ralph" was born November 10, 1922 to Arvin and Bessie Huskey in Sevierville,TN and resided there until joining the military.

"Jack" was predeceased by his wife, Georgette of 52 years. He is survived by his son, Michael Huskey, daughter-in-law Karin, daughter Cynthia Brayman and husband Doug, all of Mystic, his five grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Jordan, Elizabeth, and Stephen and great-grandchildren, Aryana and Aaron. He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Hazel, Beulah,Clarence, Betty, Grace, and Kenneth and many other family and friends.

"Jim" retired from the Navy in 1963 as a bo'suns mate and retired from Electric Boat in 1984 as a dry-dock technician.

One of Jim's greatest gifts was his mastery of gardening and sharing the love of this gift with others. Another of Jim's gifts was his selfless giving of his time and talents and to the ministry of Union Baptist Church as a "life" deacon. He also was a member of many service organizations in the community.

His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 6-8pm. A brief graveside service will be conducted at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic on Friday at 10:15am followed by a Memorial Service at Union Baptist Church at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to Union Baptist Church "Deacon's fund”, 119 High Street, Mystic CT 06355.
