Helen R. (Yarasitis) Charbonnier, a lifelong resident of Charlestown and faithful parishoner of St. Francis De Sales Church in Charlestown, died on Sunday June 1, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a lengthy illness. She was 86 years old.
Helen is the beloved wife of the late Augustus P. "Gus" Charbonnier. She is the devoted mother of Patricia Gundy and her husband William, Retired Mass. State Police Trooper Thomas Charbonnier and his wife Leslie, Linda Kerrigan and her husband James, James Charbonnier and his wife Kathy, Maryann Ranahan and her husband Boston Firefighter Kevin, Joseph Charbonnier and his wife Kathy, Boston Police Officer Michael Charbonnier and his wife Susan and the late Judy Lucas and her husband Jack. She is the beloved step-mother of John "Beansie" Charbonnier and his wife Marilyn and the late Richard "Red" Charbonnier and his wife Marilyn. She is the loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is the dear sister of John Frink and the late Eva Rouillard, Rose Jenkins, Frank Yarasitis and Cornelius James Yarasitis.
Helen's Funeral will be held on Wednesday June 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Helen will be on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
