Mary (Griffin) Casavant of Newtonville, died on Sat May 31, 2008 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton. She was 82.
Born and raised in Medford she graduated form Medford High in 1943 and attended Boston University. She had been a resident of Newton since 1950 and had worked as the lunch manager at the Horace Mann School in Newtonville for more than 20 years. She was also a longtime communicant at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Newton.
Wife of the late Frederick A. Casavant and loving mother of the late David and Frederick J. “Ricky” Casavant. Mary is survived by her sister Elizabeth Nolan of Medford and
many nieces, nephews and her dear friends Sarah Tompkins and Mary Pohlman. She was the sister of the late Georgina McLean, and Joseph W. Griffin and Warren Griffin Jr.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. NEWTON CORNER on Tues June 3 for a visiting hour at 9:30 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery.
