Albertus P. Dano, Sr., 84, of 16 Blossom Street, died on Monday, March 3, at home.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Claire (King) Dano; four sons, George Dano of Auburn; Wayne Dano of Princeton; Dwight Dano of Charlton; and Albertus Dano, Jr., of Worcester; a sister, Elaine Baxley of Seattle, WA; a brother, Ralph Dano of Nashville, TN; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Three sisters, four brothers, and a grandson predeceased him.
Mr. Dano was born in Thousand Island Park, NY, son of Harvey and Grace (Packer) Dano. He served in the Army during WWII and Korea. He received a Purple Heart and 5 Bronze Stars during WWII. Mr. Dano retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1962 after 20 years of service. He worked at David Clark Co. as a supervisor for security for 20 years, retiring in 1981. He enjoyed golfing and reading.
After cremation, a spring burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Grafton. A Memorial Mass will be at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge St., Worcester, at a later date. There are no calling hours.
