Joan G. Roy (Geraghty) of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday May 27th at the Life Care Center of Plymouth at the age of 75. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert J. Roy of Plymouth and her sons, Robert J. Roy Jr. and his wife Karen of Plymouth, Michael and his wife Judy of Plymouth, Paul and his wife Diane of Sagamore and Christopher and his wife Beth of Plymouth. She also leaves her brother John Geraghty of Norwood, her sisters Barbara Savoia of Plymouth, Carol Geraghty of Randolph and Elinor Harold of Hingham, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Beloved grandmother of one late grandchild. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Lynch) Geraghty. Mrs. Roy has lived in Plymouth for 40 years coming from South Weymouth. She graduated from South Boston High School in 1950 and the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. Joan worked as the Executive Secretary to the State Auditor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was a member of the Plymouth Garden Club and enjoyed gardening, cooking, painting and calligraphy. A funeral mass will be held on Monday June 2nd at St. Bonaventure’s Church in Plymouth at 10 AM followed by burial at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt. 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Sunday June 1st from 4 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Jordan Hospital Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich St, Plymouth, MA 02360.
