John Wesley Rosson, Jr., 81, Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Montgomery Care and Rehab. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Leonard Smith delivering the eulogy and Geoffrey Sikes officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm today and from 11 am until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born August 20, 1926 in Montgomery County son of John Wesley Rosson, Sr. and Mabel Gibson Rosson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Lou Abernathy. Mr. Rosson was a purchasing agent for Clarksville Department of Electricity for thirty six years. He also served in the US Army. He was a member of Madison Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Nelda Hudgens Rosson; a son, Barry Rosson; a sister, Martha Jean Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Nephews serving as pallbearers will be Butch Abernathy, Mark Abernathy, Ken Hudgens, Jim Shamwell, Jason York, Greg York, Todd York, and Melvin O'Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and co-workers. The family wishes to extend special thanks to all employees of Montgomery Care and Rehab and to Dr. Stephen White and his staff for caring for Mr. Rosson.
