Obituary

DRACUT - Julia M. (Sopel) Stanaski, 95, a longtime resident of Dracut, died May 27, 2008, at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Paul Stanaski who died February 1992.

She was born in Lowell on December 9, 1912, and was the daughter of the late Martin and Antonia (Ciesla) Sopel. She attended Pelham schools.

Prior to her retirement in 1978, Mrs. Stanaski was employed as a winder by North Billerica Mills. Earlier in her career she was employed by the former American Woolen Company in the Collinsville section of Dracut.

She enjoyed her flower gardens, and crafts, but her true love was crocheting. She was very proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Dracut and was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality, and the Dracut Senior Citizens.

Her family would like to thank the staff at D'Youville Senior Care for the loving care she received over the past 4 years.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Amelia and Donald Neville of Dracut; a daughter-in-law Patricia Stanaski of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Linda St. Jean of Marlboro, Mary LaFave of Nashua, Donna Yates of Tyngsboro, James Neville of Lowell, Julie Neville of Somerville, Ann Brann of Pepperell, Kimberly Stanaski, and Paul M. Stanaski Jr. of AZ, and Jeffrey Lane of Colorado Springs; 17 great grandchildren; two nieces Virginia O'Neil of Londonderry, NH and Gloria Descheneaux of Pelham, NH; three nephews, Edward Bogush of Pelham, NH, Andrew Stefanczak of Dracut, and Ronald Stefanczak of NH; and several grand and great grand nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of her loving son Paul M. Stanaski who died July 13, 2004, and the sister of the late Mildred and Irene Bogush.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Friday from 4 until 8 PM. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 8 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9 AM at St. Marguerite D'Youville Church in Dracut. Burial in Gibson Cemetery in Pelham, NH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, C/O St. Marguerite D'Youville Church, 1340 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, MA 01826.
