TEWKSBURY - Ruth F. Hulme, age 81, a former resident of Malden, died Memorial Day morning, May 26, at the Wilmington Health Care Center after a long period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Edward Hulme.
She was born in Malden on May 1, 1927, a daughter of the late Chester and Helen (O'Connor) Bohan. She was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School. She lived the greater part of her life in the Malden and Revere area, but moved to Tewksbury in 1992, following the death of her husband.
She was retired from the First National Store in Revere.
Since moving to Tewksbury, she had become an active member of the Tewksbury Senior's community, and was a frequent visitor to the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gerrie and Donald Bibo of Tewksbury, with whom she had resided; a sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Pasquale DiGregorio of Everett; four grandchildren, Donald and his wife Wendi Bibo Jr, Christopher Bibo, Lauren and her husband Mark Morris, and Ashley Bibo, all of Tewksbury; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Barbara Gallagher.
At her request all funeral services are private.
