Danny H. Lankford, 56, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday evening, May 24, 2008 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Chaudoin and Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Lankford was born August 29, 1951 in Copperhill, Tennessee to the late William Howard and Katherine Dalton Lankford. He had lived in Fitzgerald since 1988 moving from Buford, Georgia. He was supervisor at Southern Roasted Nuts and American Blanching. He formerly worked for Blalock Power Products in Atlanta as well as Sakamy Car Wash in Fitzgerald. Mr. Lankford was a graduate of Buford High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith, an avid fisherman and loving husband and father.
Mr. Lankford is survived by his wife: Charlene Walker Lankford of Fitzgerald; daughter: Sarah Katherine Lankford of Fitzgerald; brother: David J. Lankford of Atlanta; and two sisters: Mary Jo Lankford and Barbara Ann Barton both of Chicago, Illinois.
