WORCESTER-William E. Hall, 83, formerly of 4 Ontario Street, a former Worcester Police Department Sergeant and a WWII veteran, died Sunday, March 2nd in the Blair House. His wife of 58 years Margaret (Fallon) Hall died last year. He leaves 2 daughters, Patricia L. Hall of Jefferson and Nancy E. Meola of Shrewsbury; a sister, Mabel Picard of Holden; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, nieces and nephews. 2 brothers, Francis Hall, Raymond Hall and a sister Marion Gallagher predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of Frank and Emma (Buck) Hall and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of South High School and attended Babson College. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Mr. Hall retired in 1986 as a sergeant with the Worcester Police Department where he had worked for 38 years. He was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association, the Worcester Police Relief Association, Worcester Retired Police and Firefighters Association, the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association, a former member of the Archangels Guild, St. Joan of Arc Church, and was involved in many juvenile youth organizations.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, March 5th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, March 4th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
