Obituary

Alma M. Chamberlain, 89, passed away on May 24th, 2008. She was born in Boston on November 22nd, 1918 to her parents Lloyd D. and Edith (Whalen) Sullivan. Alma was raised in Somerville and Melrose, graduating from Melrose High School, Class of 1935. She continued her education receiving a degree from Simmons College in 1939 and went on to pursue a career as a Librarian. During her working years, Alma served as a Librarian for the Town of Watertown and for the Town of Wakefield. She also worked in the book department of Gertz Department Store in Queens, NY. Alma was a resident of 121 Riverside Avenue in Medford for 21 years. She has been a resident of Wilmington for the past year, living with her daughter Pamela and her family. She is survived by her childen, Susan Galante and her husband William of Farmingville, NY, Pamela Moscufo and her husband Arthur of Wilmington and Kathleen Tuffel and her husband William of Westford; her grandchildren, Arthur C. Moscufo, Arlene Moscufo and her fiancée Thomas Poeck and Annette Moscufo of Wilmington and Max, Dylan and Phoebe Tuffel of Westford; her brother Lloyd E. Sullivan of Melrose and by her cousin Edmund Sullivan of Marblehead. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church Chapel, 600 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday May 28th at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Tuesday May 27th from 5-7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to VNA Care Network and Hospice, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923.
