WORCESTER__Mary Phyllis (Booker) Murphy, 60 of Worcester died at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves her husband of 35 years, Francis Murphy, a son, Timothy Rawlston and his wife Gail of Worcester; three daughters, Patti Bourke of Spencer, Francine Murphy and her fiancé, Brian Matthews and Marny Murphy Dowd and her husband Patrick, all of Worcester; a brother, Richard Booker, three sisters, Carol Pavone and Dorothy Blondin, all of Worcester and Patricia Frantantonio of Shrewsbury; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Timothy, Matthew, Emily, Nicholas, Cameron, Samantha, Madison and Morgan. She was predeceased by a son, Gary Rawlston, and a sister, Ruth McDonald. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Phillip and Dorothy (Baker) Booker and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Murphy was a Certified Nurses Aide working in local nursing homes. Mary took great pride in decorating her home. She was an avid collector of teddy bears and rag dolls. She was a lover of music particularly Patsy Kline. Holidays were very special for Mary, gathering her family together and preparing for a memorable time gave her great joy. Her dog Dandalo will surely miss his time spent with her. She will be remembered by friends and family as a woman who never missed a chance to say “I love you.”
The funeral will be held on Wednesday May 28 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday May 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
