Francis J. Gallien, 87, of Derry, NH, died Friday, May 23, 2008 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Mr. Gallien was born in Derry on April 26, 1921, a son of Urbain and Marie (Blanchard) Gallien, and had been a lifelong Derry resident. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII in the Pacific. Mr. Gallien was employed as a maintenance mechanic for Klev-Broe Shoe Co. in Derry until retiring in 1986. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry. Mr. Gallien enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Mr. Gallien is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude A. (Levesque) Gallien in 2006.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, May 29th from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday at 10:00am in the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial was in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry, NH.
