Jennifer M. “Jen Bal” Ballarino, 41, of 75 South Street, Franklin, died peacefully at home on Thursday, May 22, 2008, following an extended period of failing health.
Born in Boston, April 3, 1967, a daughter of Robert J. and Mary N. (Padden) Ballarino of Cumberland, Rhode Island, she was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Educated in local schools, she was a 1985 graduate of Franklin High School. She also graduated from Community College of Rhode Island with a degree in teaching.
Until illness forced her to stop working, she had been employed for more than 10 years in the family owned and operated Ma Glockner’s Restaurant in Bellingham.
She was an avid runner, and devoted member of Red Sox Nation. She was recognized as fan of the day in May, 2007. In November, 2006, a benefit was held in her honor at the Franklin Lodge of Elks Hall. Over 1000 people attended and it was reported to be the largest event ever held at this facility.
Surviving in addition to her parents are 5 brothers: Christopher A. Ballarino and his wife Lisa of Bellingham, Mark J. Ballarino and his wife Patricia, Gregory R. Ballarino and his wife Kristi, Adam J. Ballarino and his wife Shelly all of Franklin, Jeremy W. Ballarino and his wife Jacqueline of Cumberland, RI; 2 sisters: Janine A. Zuckerman and her husband Daniel, and Justine E. Donovan and her husband Michael all of Franklin; many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. She also leaves her devoted pet dog “Nanook”.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneral.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin, at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
