Marjory L. (Wilband) Stavros, 90, of Norton formerly Mansfield and Brighton died on Friday May 23, 2008 at the Daggett-Crandall- Newcomb Home in Norton. She was the wife of the late George A. Stavros who passed away in 1978.
Born in Lebanon, Penn on May 3, 1918 she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Mabel (Anspach) Wilband.
She grew up in Belmont, MA and was educated in Belmont schools. She began her career in the sales department at Shreve, Crump & Low in Boston, after several years she left the company to raise her family. She later returned where she worked her way up to the position of a buyer before retiring in 1978.
Marjory was an avid reader and enjoyed holidays spent with her family. A resident of Norton for the past 2 years she was a former resident of Willow Crossing in Mansfield for 4 years and had formerly made her home in Brighton for over 50 years.
She is survived by her sons George “Jerry” McLaughlin and his wife Janice of Florida, Kevin McLaughlin and his wife Valerie of Florida, William G. Stavros and his wife Roberta of Burlington and Christopher Stavros and his wife Suzanne of Raynham. She was the sister of the late Arthur Wilband and Barbara Simcock, also survived by her grandchildren Melanie McLaughlin, Terese McLaughlin, George McLaughlin, Kathleen McLaughlin, Karen McLaughlin, Christopher McLaughlin, Tiffany Stavros, Nicholas Stavros and Jason Stavros and several great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday May 28th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning prior to the services beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
