Lillian Wolf , age 72, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on May 23, 2008, at her home in Mystic, CT.
Lillian was born on January 16, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Gunhild and Maurits Mauritsen of Kristiansand, Norway.
Lillian is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Paul Wolf. Lillian and Paul both spent their early childhoods in New York City, but later moved to Yaphank, on Long Island, where they met as teenagers. They married in 1955 and had two cherished daughters, Linda and Lori. They traveled extensively and lived everywhere from Germany to Texas, thanks to Paul’s long career in the United States Air Force.
In addition to her husband, Lillian is survived by her beloved daughters and their families: Linda and husband Ed Daingerfield and their daughter Caitlin of Montclair, NJ; and Lori and her husband Denis O’Brien and their sons Cutter, Justin and Beau, all of Mystic, CT. She also leaves behind her brother Roy Mauritsen, Sr and his wife, Diane, as well as her nephew Roy Mauritsen, Jr.
Lillian, who always had a great sense of humor, adored her little Scottish Terrier Bonnie, perfected the art of shopping and was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. But, most of all, she was devoted and dedicated to her family, who will always love her dearly and will miss her most deeply.
Her family will gather for a private burial at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC at a later date.
