John Romanuck, 86, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at his home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Esther (Paltsios) Romanuck. Born in Stoughton, he was a resident of Stoughton for almost 80 years before moving to Raynham 7 years ago. Mr. Romanuck was a graduate of Stoughton Schools and also attended Northeastern University. He was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Romanuck worked as the Chief Engineer and Quality Control Manager for L. F. Fales Machine Company in Walpole for over 20 years. He retired many years ago. An avid bowler, he was a member of the Dave Mitchell Bowling Team in the Stoughton Merchants League for several years. He was also a member of the VFW Post 1645 in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, greyhound racing and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children: Marcia Jenkins and her husband Richard of GA and John Romanuck Jr and his wife Ronnie of Raynham. He was the brother of Lydia Prodouz of Stoughton. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren.
